In April, 2010, NSRAP held a community meeting to discuss issues facing our aging community. You can download our findings here: Elders Meeting Brief Report Jun22.10
Following the community meeting, NSRAP determined three goals:
- Assist in the development of social opportunities for LGBT Nova Scotians aged 50+. To that end, the social group , Elderberries, was born.
- Work with seniors’ service care providers to develop guidelines for training. This is an ongoing initiative.
- Continue the focus on LGBT Elders. In response, NSRAP created the Elders Committee.
