LGBT Elders Project

In April, 2010, NSRAP held a community meeting to discuss issues facing our aging community. You can download our findings here: Elders Meeting Brief Report Jun22.10

Following the community meeting, NSRAP determined three goals:

  1. Assist in the development of social opportunities for LGBT Nova Scotians aged 50+. To that end, the social group , Elderberries, was born.
  2. Work with seniors’ service care providers to develop guidelines for training. This is an ongoing initiative.
  3. Continue the focus on LGBT Elders. In response, NSRAP created the Elders Committee.
