Notice of Special General Meeting – January 17, 2018

Time: 6 pm
Date: Wednesday, January 17th, 2018
Location: Teaching Room, Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, 2209 Gottigen Street, K’jipuktuk (Halifax)

Join us to hear what our organization has accomplished this past year, get our bylaws up to date, and elect new Directors to the Board for 2018! This meeting does not replace out Annual General Meeting, which will take in the spring time.

At this time a special resolution will be brought to the membership to amend the NSRAP bylaws by adding as paragraph 49 the following: “Directors and officers shall serve without remuneration and shall not receive any profit from their positions. However, a director or officer may be paid reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.”

To vote in Board elections and vote on bylaw amendments you must be an NSRAP member. Become a member here or sign up in person the night of the AGM.

Nominations to join the Board of Directors are Open!

Are you a passionate advocate for Two-Spirit, Trans, and Queer rights in Nova Scotia? Do you have skills or experience working with Boards or collectives on 2STQIABLG+ issues? Do you want to see NSRAP grow, change, or be more active on specific issues facing our communities? Nominate yourself to join NSRAP’s Board of Directors for 2018.

To Apply: fill out the online nomination form by Friday, January 12, 2018. Applications will be reviewed by the current Board of Directors and brought forward at the Special General Meeting. It is preferred that those wishing to join the Board be in attendance at the Special General Meeting (either in person or via Skype) in order to have an opportunity to address the membership and speak to their desire to join NSRAP’s Board of Directors. If you have any questions about NSRAP or what serving on the Board entails, please get in touch with us at nsrap@nsrap.ca.
