Join NSRAP’s Board

NSRAP is inviting expressions of interest from community members who want to help shape the future of advocacy, education and community connection for 2SLGBTQIA+ people across Nova Scotia.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome a range of skills, backgrounds and lived experiences. Your experience through employment, volunteering, education and community involvement is valued. Previous board service and specialized professional experience are assets, not requirements.

We’re especially glad to hear from people with experience in:

  • Board service or organizational governance
  • Legal practice, research, policy or rights advocacy
  • Budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting or financial oversight
  • Fundraising or grant writing
  • Community organizing, outreach or advocacy
  • Strategic planning or organizational development
  • Event planning or volunteer coordination

You do not need any particular experience to apply.

A board that reflects our communities

NSRAP seeks a board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. The perspectives and knowledge arising from different backgrounds and lived experiences are assets to our work. We especially encourage people from communities across the province, not only Halifax, to apply.

How to apply

Complete our short online expression of interest form. You’ll be asked to tell us a little about yourself and why you’d like to join. You can also upload a résumé if you have one, but it is not required.

If there’s anything we can do to make the application or selection process accessible to you, let us know on the form or email nsrap@nsrap.ca.
