Committees

NSRAP has several active committees associated with its governance and its active projects. Many committees are open to non-members and offer an ideal way to learn more about NSRAP while giving back to the community. To learn more about joining any of these committees please call us at 902.444.3206 or e-mail us at nsrap@nsrap.ca.

The following committees are currently active:

  • Communications Committee: Communications with members via e-mail and social media. Handles media inquiries.
  • Elders Committee: Advocates on behalf of senior LGBT Nova Scotians.
  • Gala Committee:  Develops and produces NSRAP’s Annual Gala and Darlene Young Community Hero Awards dinner.
  • Health Committee: Works in health advocacy; ensuring equal medical treatment for all.
  • IDAHoT Committee: Oversees the planning of events to mark  the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia.
  • Rainbow Community Centre Committee: This is a new committee formed with the aim of developing a resource centre for the LGBTQ Community in Nova Scotia.
